It’s no need to say too much that Apple’s new Podcasts app is free and easy to navigate as well as use.
In earlier this month, Apple mentioned of a standalone podcast app. But most of us guessed it should be with iOS 6 this fall.
However, in earlier this week, Apple released Podcasts, which is free and universal. And this App is designed for both the iPhone and ipad. This is not like the case, iphone 4 case is for iphone while ipad 3 case is for ipad 3.
If you are the first time to use this app, you’ll see the Library view, which features two columns of large tiles of your podcasts. Regards to the podcasts, there are two buttons at the bottom, labeled Podcasts and Top Stations. At the top of this page is a toggle switch for browsing audio or video podcasts. Besides, below each subject, there are five large tiles; tap on a tile to listen/view that podcast.
And you are given three views for the Catalog: Featured in new podcasts, Top Charts, and Search. When you find a podcast you like, tap on it to view its page. On each podcast page is a gray Subscribe button, which adds a tile to your Podcasts list.
If you want to download an episode, you just should click the gray download button to the right of its title. Episodes you have downloaded are then listed without the download button. What’s more, you will have an easy life when you do not have an Internet connection, podcasts will meet your needs.
If you want to unsubscribe from a podcast, you can tap the Edit button in the upper-left corner of the Library view and then tap the X on one of the tiles to remove that podcast from your subscriptions. And there are two buttons on the right of the button which will let you view your subscribed podcasts as these large tiles or as a list.
